Progress Report on the Mexico Temple Project as of December 19, 2024

1. Status of Valle de Bravo as a Tourist Destination. The former Minister of Tourism of the State of Mexico, where Valle de Bravo is located, reported that the level of investment and the socioeconomic profile of its residents are solid. This source confirmed that investing in Valle de Bravo is a good decision. Regarding the global ecological emergency, which caused the lake's water levels to drop, she commented that it has not affected investments in the area. Last year’s drought impacted not only this region but was a worldwide phenomenon. The lake’s water level has now increased to 60% this year.

2. Property boundaries. The boundaries of the property are not 100% demarcated. A few meters are limited by wire, a few more with a small wall and the rest with boundary marks called “mojones”, please see picture. It will be necessary to demarcate the property using wire, mesh, or another method in areas without physical boundaries.

3. Legal status of the property, an update. We need to see whether the new buildings (two houses) were registered in the municipality. If they have been not, there will be the need to pay for the corresponding taxes. We will have to negotiate with the seller to discount this amount from the sale price as the property it is being sold as land only.

4. Permits. We found a permit agent (gestor in Spanish) to sound out whether a permit for the temple would be granted. A zoning permit would be possible to get now, shall we proceed with this or should we wait? This process will take approximately one month.

5. Size of suitable land to build the temple. After Guen Sangden and Namdrol’s visit, it was concluded that the property is suitable and has enough space to build the temple and other necessary buildings.

6. Wild fauna. As for dangerous animals, reports mention violinist spiders, black widows, and scorpions, but they do not pose a significant problem in the area.

7. Search for other suitable properties. Regarding the search for properties in other feasible locations, we have not found a better option elsewhere at this time.
